Some 14 years ago I started a Leeds United Blog Site. Following some time away... We're back!
A lifetime of supporting our amazing club, witnessing the high's of the Champions League and the depths of League 1 on a cold Tuesday night, I can honestly say hand on heart - I wouldn't have it any other way.
14 years ago, I started a relatively successful website, with the ethos of 'by the fans, for all Leeds fans'. In it's peak we had 12 writers, multiple articles a day and thousands of hits each day; not to mention our healthy social media following. For personal reasons, I stepped away from editing and writing on what was 'my baby', but my love for the club and my endless support never dwindled.
So why now? Well, why not! A lot has happened in this space of time, as you would expect being Leeds. We have sampled the Premier League once again, and unfortunately had the bitter taste of dropping out of it again.... But we're Leeds, and it's never boring. As a club we look stronger than ever and have a real shot of giving the elite another run for their money. I have had my own personal issues to work through, but I am lucky to have the amazing children that I have been blessed with, my youngest, almost 9, is as Leeds as it gets - White, Yellow, Blue through and through. I don't think he quite understands just how big we are, surrounded by school friends and teammates at his grassroots club, all wearing the red and blue of Manchester, or proudly wearing the Liver birds of Liverpool. I would love to show him how us fans can come together, like we do in so many ways.
Now is the perfect time to go again, just as Leeds have had to do time and time again. This time, let's go bigger and better. I'm aiming to get a few of the legends back behind the keyboard and intend to add a bit of fresh blood too, to put together the perfect team for your reading pleasure. Stay tuned.... MOT!
